Happy New Year

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Hello and Happy New Year to everyone.

Well here we are again at the breaking of a new year, full of hope, ideas, wishes, resolutions (perhaps still intact) and still a little hung over from the Christmas. We must move on and get going. The plan this year is to give an even better service and even better quality of metalwork to our existing clients and hopefully pick up a few new ones along the way, yes……………………….we are open for business. This I feel is a result already. We are lucky to be able to open our doors and welcome the guys back to work and welcome our customers in this present climate but we are and thank God for that.

So if there is a metalwork problem you have, and if you can pick up the phone, e-mail etc. call us and we will assist you in the only way we know how, the right way.

Happy New Year and all the Best to you and Yours for 2009. Lets get this year started!

End of 2008

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Well folks, we’ve come to the end of another year here at Stapleton Engineering. A tough year. A year with many interesting challenges, many successes, many failures or learning experiences as we prefer to call them now. A year in which we developed a real sense of awareness when it comes to costs, efficiencies, regulations, bull shit and red tape.

I’ve always said that this business is a roller coaster ride, and oh boy, did we have a good one. Nevertheless, we’ve got here and we can still crack a smile and a joke with one another.

My hope for 2009 would be that the Government would take complete and aggressive control of this wonderful Nation of ours and show leadership like never before seen in our time to lead Ireland and stop paying lip service and homage to the so called great ones. Stand up and take action now and don’t be waiting for it to pan out itself.

Anyhow, we close for business tomorrow and we will all meet up later for a bite to eat and a few drinks, we will remember the crack we had through the year, the rows, the near misses, the clients, the sites. We will sing a song or two and then we will go our separate ways and we will be open for your business again on Monday 5th January 2009.

So Happy Christmas.

Regards, Martin.

Stapleton Engineering at The O2 Dublin

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

We have just completed our metalwork package in The O2 Dublin which consisted of mesh balustrades with stainless steel tubular handrails, stainless steel drinks shelves, lift surrounds in glass and stainless steel, galvanised stair balustrades, balcony balustrades etc. and all had to be designed and manufactured to suit the criteria set out for managing large crowds. The project proved to be quite challenging but worthwhile and our team from the Design office to the Site Crews worked extremely well to produce a quality package for our clients within budget, safely and on time.

We manufactured almost all of the metalwork inside the Bowl and Crowd loadings were most important.

The 240 grit satin polished handrails proved a nice contrast to the grey finished balustrades.

Phisically getting the large panes of glass into position in a tight space was a challenge in itself.

We manufacture our mesh panel balustrade using CNC cutting so as to maintain uniformaty throughout our work. Whilst this was probably over the top a little the quality in the finish is evedent and worth the effort.

Well done lads, good work…………………………

Regards, Martin.

Merry Christmas

Residential Metalwork

Monday, November 17th, 2008

In the past few years we have been supplying many apartment blocks with feature metalwork. Thankfully our workshop and crew are very flexible and we are not soley dependant on the Construction Industry, however we would like this market to begin moving again, for everyone’s sake.

The products we have supplied are items like door threshold drainage like Draindeck to door canopies or balconies, gates, railings, balsutrades etc. Below are some photos of some of this work.

As you can see we cover all aspects of the metalwork packages including the sourcing and installation of the glass panels and finish colouring the mildsteel and galvanised items. Our site crews install to the highest safety requirements and their workmanship is world class and of course their attention to detail is what makes them special indeed. These are just a few images of the type of residential packages we have been involved in and I will post some more at a later stage. Don’t forget if you would like any information on what we can offer please don’t hesitate to call us.

Regards,  Martin.
